Sure, that doesn't look like much. Boring, right? But wait until we step closer.

Ahhhhhhh... NOW I've got your attention.

56 Leonard Street is a 57-story project with 145 apartments. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron (who have appeared on HAWT before with the Olympic Bird's Nest), it is a stunning building. It looks like a stack of off-kilter houses. The bizarre shape has earned the nickname Jenga House. (Meh. They could do better.) As you can guess from the pictures, each apartment will have a unique floorplan and private outdoor space, a true luxury in Manhattan.

The building has some sassy ammenities for its residents: a 75-foot swimming pool, a sun deck, children's play room, library, of course a screening room, and more.

The apartments range from $3.5-33 million in price and 133 to 593 square meters (1,430 to 6,380 sq ft). HAWTaction will take 10 units. Why not? We have more cash than we could burn.

Construction has begun on the project, but, unfortunately funding has stalled and 56 Leonard St hasn't had any progress done on it in a while. Boo. Here's to hoping it gets back up on its feet soon.
