برج العرب

برج العرب نام هتلی مجلل در دوبی، امارات متحده عربی است. ساختمان آن ۳۲۱ متر ارتفاع دارد که ستون بندی های این هتل تا ۴۰ متر زیر دریا می‌باشد. کوچک‌ترین اتاق هتل ۱۶۹ و بزرگ‌ترین اتاق آن ۷۸۰ متر مربع مساحت دارند. رقم دقیق هزینه شده برای ساختمان بنا مشخص نیست، اما گمان می‌رود بیش از ۱ میلیارد دلار آمریکا باشد. برای جبران هزینه‌ها تمامی اتاق‌های هتل بایستی برای ۴۰۰ سال اجاره شوند. صاحبان هتل آن را ۷ ستاره می‌خوانند، اما در واقع بیشتر سازمان‌های رتبه‌دهنده تنها تا ۵ ستاره رتبه می‌دهند.
این هتل دارای ۶۰ طبقه‌ است و معمار آن Atkins Middle East می‌باشد. برج العرب بلندتر از برج ایفل است و تنها ۶۰ متر از ساختمان امپایر استیتز در آمریکا کوتاه‌تر است. با امکانات منححصر بفردی که دارد، تمام پرده‌ها، چراغها و سیستم تهویه هوا با یک دکمه به کار می‌افتند. تمام کانالها به دوربین مدار بسته متصل هستند و مهمان می‌تواند ببیند که چه کسی پشت در است. هفت طبقه از این هتل به صورت آکواریوم در زیر دریا وجود دارد. اجاره کوچک‌ترین اتاق این هتل شبی ۶ هزار درهم است. سرو هر غذا در این هتل کمتر از ۱۰۰۰ درهم نیست. رستوران المهارا (به معنی صدف) در برج العرب در میان ۱۰ رستوران برتر دنیا قرار دارد. برج العرب برای مدتی نماد دوبی بود و هنوز می‌توان اثر آن را در پلاک‌های قدیم امارت دوبی دید. اما پس از مدتی دوبی نماد خود را از برج العرب تغییر داد ...

The pristine beauty of the Sierra Madre Mountains is the home of the Torres House by GLR Arquitectos/ Gilberto L. Rodriguez. The 5,942 sq ft contemporary house doesn’t contrast with the surroundings, not at all – lots of natural materials (marble, wood and volcanic stone) have been used and the garden is in fact a small oak forest. Designed to maximize the “outdoor” feel, the Torres house provides lavish views of the outside space from almost every corner of the home. And talking about views – the roof terrace has amazing views over Sierra Madre and the city of Monterrey. The entrance door is also worth mentioning – its stunning mural-like design is like a hint for the beauty that lies inside this amazing modern house.

غارنشينی در قرن بيست و يکم
